Planting Grasses in the Paddock

April 15, 2019

It's been months since we've been able to do any new planting in the paddock. We've just kept the existing plant life alive during the hot and dry summer and much of our Autumn, to date, has been dry too. We did have a lovely almost 20mm of rain nearly two weeks ago but that's all. I shared the post below from the Australian Butterfly … [Read more...] about Planting Grasses in the Paddock

Beautiful Saturday

August 25, 2018

With a forecast of a beautiful pre-Spring day of 18C and blue skies, Graham and I decided to spend most of the day in the garden. Planting time!

May 27, 2018

At last, the rains and cooler weather have arrived and with that, suitable weather for more planting. Graham and I have a lot of time to make up - it's been almost 5 months since we last planted in earnest. Over the past two weekends I've been planting salvias in one section but this past weekend we've gone back to planting more Australian natives. … [Read more...] about More planting in the paddock garden

Silver Birches added to our Garden Project

January 15, 2018

Despite it being summer Graham and I thought we'd get some planting done in our new paddock garden. There is a section at the top of the paddock which is usually damp, even through summer, as the run off from our septic system goes through this area. Consequently we need to plant things that didn't mind having damp or wet feet. And Silver Birches … [Read more...] about Silver Birches added to our Garden Project
