Gardening Project Week 6

August 21, 2017

Day 22 of work being done: 30 June 2017 With all the rain that came at the end of June there was very limited access to the project with heavy equipment. Sadly our landscapers went off and worked on another project elsewhere because they couldn't do a lot of earthworks here on our own property. The billabong didn't take long to fill back up … [Read more...] about Gardening Project Week 6

Beautiful Wattle Colour

August 19, 2017

100 metres up the road from us is a beautiful grove of wattle trees. They're not really noticeable for most of the year but at this time of the year - later winter to early spring, they are on show and this year they look magic. August 18, 2017

Well, work is at a standstill again. The workers just need a stretch of 4 dry days - without the soil being too soggy underfoot so they can bring their equipment back in. All they have left to do is to finish the firepit area with the seating and floor and also put the final topping to pack down on all the pathways.  But with winter well and truly … [Read more...] about Paddock Project More Planting

Garden Project Week 8

August 5, 2017

This covers the period 1 to 4 August, Days 25-28. A lot of activity has taken place this week which is wonderful. We had to finalise drainage for the overflow from the billabong in times of heavy rainfalls, and although the rain has been a pain in getting this job completed, it actually has been a silver lining, in that it's shown up possible … [Read more...] about Garden Project Week 8

Gardening Project: Planting

July 28, 2017

While we can't have earthworks happening on our property, Graham and I have been able to get out and get some planting done. Not a lot, but it's a start. We've put in over 120 plants so far, although it might not look like it. And have around another 70 or 80 to get in the ground, hopefully this weekend. Depends on the weather. This time they're … [Read more...] about Gardening Project: Planting
