Our church group had an outing this week to the George Tindale Memorial Gardens. I’m always up for a garden visit anytime and I’d been told by a friend that it was looking particularly good at the current time.
It was a gorgeous spring day, not too hot, not windy and perfect for wandering along the pathways exploring all the plants, flowers and leaves. Some of the maples and beech trees had leaves that were red, and orange and brown – just like it was Autumn, but these are their natural colours at this time of year.
Particularly spectacular, I thought, was the Flowering Dogwood or Cornus florida.
After a couple of hours of wandering around we went further up the hill to the Piggery Cafe for lunch. It was, indeed, a lovely day’s outing.
