The Colour of January

January 31, 2020

I’ve been doing a series on the colour of January on my Instagram account.

It seems wherever I look locally, the colour purple is present and very evident. Jacarandahs, buddlejas, hydrangeas, agapanthus, foxgloves, wisteria, trechillium, native hibiscus, convulvulus and so the list goes on.

Maybe you could say we just love purple and our garden is filled with it – certainly is at this time of year. But some of these plants were here before we shifted to Selby over 10 years ago and it’s quite prevalent in other gardens and along streets too. So, I feel that the colour of January, where I live, is definitely purple – that and green. Can’t really have one without the other!

You’ll see I added some quotes too – which I love doing. What amazes me, though, is not many comment on the quotes – but it is good to see comments on the photos 🙂

I love purple in the garden too, as do the bees! Thanks for the pics Kathie.
