How did it get to be the end of January already?
It seems we wait all year (or almost) for Christmas and the holiday break, times with family and friends that we’ve not caught up with all year and then a new year begins and the cycle starts all over again.
Important to spend more time with loved ones – as much as we can fit in and then more again – at least that’s how I feel. But doesn’t always work out that way, does it? Was chatting to a friend today who recently lost her husband. Her family and friends have been good and helped where they can, but some have stayed away. We chatted about how some just find it hard to speak to someone for fear (I imagine) of saying the wrong thing. And yet it’s the company we need – there isn’t any wrong thing that can be said really. What has happened, has happened. Stay close to your family and friends people. Well, my post wasn’t intended to go down this road…
We’re two thirds of our way into summer here in Australia, and it’s been pretty hot and dry here in Melbourne and the hills where I live. But our garden still flowers and the bird life here is amazing. Wish I could catch them at the sunflowers though – would make for a great shot, don’t you think? I had to make sure I got some seeds too, for next season’s plantings, before the birds got them all. Still hoping I might get a shot of a bird (which ones I wonder?) helping themselves to the sunflower seeds – must be early morning I reckon.
How’s your garden growing?
