We have a huge fig tree at home. It’s over 70 years old now and is massive. Consequently it gets lots and lots of figs (we never prune it or even water it but it survives well) and the birds come in the daytime during Feb/March and the Fruit Bats at night. We still get to pick plenty for ourselves though – not that I know a lot about using figs in cooking. I really should look for more recipes.
Anyway, the Currawongs and Rainbow Lorikeets are currently enjoying them, and this year, we’ve been hearing the possums in the tree at night too.
