Building a Fishpond

September 29, 2016

In January 2014 we built a fish pond outside our bedroom window. It had been something we'd been thinking about ever since we shifted in, in 2009. I've had a fish pond in every home I've owned over the past almost 40 years. This one took two whole days and my husband, our son-in-law Ben, and his father, Dave, assisted with the project. We were very … [Read more...] about Building a Fishpond

Garden Photobook – a gift for a loved one

August 30, 2016

I love photographing people's gardens, capturing the essence of their styles and what makes them happy. Recently I photographed the garden of an 85 year old who was leaving the region to live with family elsewhere. She'd been in her home and garden over 40 years so it's a big thing for her to leave. She was also a sculptress in her younger years … [Read more...] about Garden Photobook – a gift for a loved one

Camellia and Garden Show

August 25, 2016

Recently I attended the annual Camellia and Garden Show, being held in Mount Waverley, Victoria. I went with a small group of photographers from one of my photography groups. Below are some of the images I captured on the day and I hope you enjoy … [Read more...] about Camellia and Garden Show

July 10, 2016

I was privileged to be invited to do a tour of the Bunnings Expo last week, in particular the section relating to plants and gardens. There were a number of people there to take notes and photos, just as I was, and we were given 2-3 mins at each stall to hear the owner speak, and ask questions before we were moved on to the next stall. I went back … [Read more...] about Visit to Bunnings Expo

Wall Art

June 1, 2016

Have you thought about having photos pasted onto walls (like wallpaper) or imprinted into glass walls? An insurance company in Mulgrave, Victoria, Australia has and I was delighted to be invited to a viewing of two walls they had imprinted with my photos on them. I just couldn't imagine how they would look so big but I think you'll agree, they … [Read more...] about Wall Art

Garden Passion

May 28, 2016

When I was a young girl I would love to stay with my grandmother on school holidays and one of the things we would do together was work in her garden. Grandma had a lovely cottage garden filled with canna lilies, marigolds, cosmos, geraniums and a range of other plants and flowers. She taught me all sorts of things about gardening but most of all, … [Read more...] about Garden Passion
